Huge new world season lead 20.94m by Ostapchuk; Borzakovskiy’s back 1:43 in Zhukovskiy – IAAF World Challenge
Zhukovskiy, Russia - The 53rd edition of Brothers Znamenskiy Memorial was highlighted by a huge 20.94m put by Belarussia’s Nadzeya Ostapchuk, while the spectators in the Meteor stadium in this town on the outskirts of Moscow went home especially satisfied by the victory of local lad Yuriy Borzakovskiy who went under 1:44 at 800m.

The 53nd edition of the Znamensky Memorial will be held in Zhukovsky. This year, the meeting is an IAAF World Challenge meeting and a part of the IAAF World Hammer Throw.

A press conference for the 53rd Znamensky Memorial was held in Moscow on 29 June. President of the Russian Athletics Federation Valentin Balakhnichev opened the press conference and noted that the Znamensky Memorial is one of the important meetings for athletes.
