Russia cruises to second consecutive win at Yokohama Womens Ekiden

Propelled by three consecutive stage bests from the start, Team Russia won the 25th Womens Ekiden in 2:14:48 on Sunday (25)in Yokohama, Japan.

Aleksey Dmitrik placed second at the Novinarska latka meeting held in Praha yesterday. He cleared 2.28 meters. Sergey Klyugin was fourth with 2.19m.

Olympic champion wins in Czech

Sidney Olympic champion Sergey Klyugin won the Jablonecka Latka meeting held in Jablonec Czech on 13 February. He achieved 2.20m beating Athens Silver medalist Jaroslav Baba with 2.10m.

Kallur and Ukhov are European Athletes of the Month - January 2007

Isinbayeva breaks own World Indoor Record in Donetsk

After checking via phonecalls with local organiser Sergy Bubka it was confirmed that the new WR height by Yelena Isinbayeva is 493.

Isinbayeva jumped before 462, 472 and 482, all at first. Then the bar was raised to 492 and she missed twice. For the third she asked for 493 and went over. It showed her great strength that after two not succesfull jumps she was able go higher and jump more than clearly. It was again a great show before 4000 spectators. I am satisfied with the usual atmosphere and of course the world record is always something special. Yelena was under pressure, because everybody expected it and she was able to handle it, said the legendary Bubka.

European Champion Olga Kotlyarova finished second in the womens 800m at yesterdays 2. internationales Indoor Meeting held in Duesseldorf, Germany. She clocked 2:01.84.

Andrey Tereshin wins in France

World Indoor silver medalist Andrey Tereshin won the mens high jump at todays High Jumps with Music meeting held in Rouen, France. He cleared 2.24 meters and then tried to set a meeting record of 2.30 but unsuccessful.

Aleksey Drozdov third in Tallinn

Aleksey Drozdov placed third with 5897 points at the Reval Hotels Combined Events Cup held during this weekend in Estonian capital. The winner was USAs Jon-Ryan Harlan with 5969 and the runner-up was Belarus Andrey Kravchenko with 5955.

The Russian set a U.S. all-comers record and meeting record of 4.82m in her North American debut in the womens Pole Vault to highlight the famed indoor meetings 100th running on Friday (02) night.
