Luch’s women team wins its 9th European Champion Clubs Cup.
30.05.2005 The women team of the Luch sports club Moscow became the winner of the European Champion Clubs Cup in 9th time in Portugal’s city of Lagos this weekend. It scored 125 points. The Luch men team, the previous year’s winner, placed second behind the Fiamme Gialle club (Italy) with 113 points.

28.05.2005 Natalia Sadova won the women’s discus throw with a World best of 66.29m at the Anhalt 2005 meet in Germany’s city of Dessau. Sergei Makarov won in the men’s javelin throw with 86.43m, this season’s third result.

14.05.2005 Tatiana Labedeva and Natalia Sadova won their events at the Qatar Athletics Super Grand Prix, this year’s first IAAF Super Grand Prix meeting, held yesterday in Qatar’s city of Doha.

Albina Ivanova wins third Mini-Marathon title.
08.05.2005 Albina Ivanova became the first three-time women’s winner of the Mini-Marathon in Indianapolis. She ran the half marathon course in 1 hour, 13 minutes, 35 seconds - more than two minutes slower than her course record from 2003. Ivanova acknowledged the race was "very difficult".
