Russians’ six wins in Warsaw
18.06.2007 Russian athletes won six events at the 53rd Janusz Kusocinski Memorial held in Warsaw (Poland) yesterday. Andrey Tereshin and Yaroslav Rybakov repeated in the men’s high jump the World season best of 2.34m sharing the win. Danil Burkenya achieved a World season third mark of 17.48m in the men’s triple jump.

11.06.2007 Yuriy Borzakovskiy and Yuliya Chizhenko placed second at the Prefontaine Classic held in Eugene, USA, yesterday. Borzakovskiy clocked in the men’s 800m 1:44.71 and Chizhenko achieved 4:02.98 in the women’s 1500m.

09.06.2007 Yelena Slesarenko and Yuliya Golubchikova won their events at the Meeting Lille Metropole held in Lille, France, yesterday. Slesarenko cleared 1.98m in the women’s high jump and Golubchikova achieved 4.50 in the women’s pole vault.

Kotova instead of Kolchanova
06.06.2007 One of the strongest athletes, European Champion in the long jump Lyudmila Kolchanova was injured during her training three days before the Znamensky Memorial and couldn’t participate at the meeting in Zhukovski. But the three times World Champion Tatyana Kotova, one of fans’ favorite athletes, will compete in the women’s long jump to win.

Javelin to fly far in Zhukovski
04.06.2007 Russian record holder Sergey Makarov and the meeting record holder Aleksandr Ivanov, both the meeting’s three times winners, will compete in the men’s javelin throw at the Znamensky Memorial in Zhukovski on 9 June. Recently in Dessau, Sergey Makarov showed with his throws series (81.96-83.01-82.17-86.32-83.68-87.05) he is in good form.
