Russians six wins in Warsaw

Russian athletes won six events at the 53rd Janusz Kusocinski Memorial held in Warsaw (Poland) yesterday. Andrey Tereshin and Yaroslav Rybakov repeated in the mens high jump the World season best of 2.34m sharing the win. Danil Burkenya achieved a World season third mark of 17.48m in the mens triple jump.

Isinbayeva and Slesarenko hunt for 1 million

Yelena Isinbayeva and Yelena Slesarenko won their events at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games, the start of the IAAF Golden League 2007, and became contenders for the $1 Million Golden League Jackpot.

DN Galan Youth

Borzakovskiy and Chizhenko placed seconds in USA

Yuriy Borzakovskiy and Yuliya Chizhenko placed second at the Prefontaine Classic held in Eugene, USA, yesterday. Borzakovskiy clocked in the mens 800m 1:44.71 and Chizhenko achieved 4:02.98 in the womens 1500m.

Aleksandr Petrenko wins in Chania

Aleksandr Petrenko won the mens triple jump with 17.41m (wind: 3.5) at the 59th Venizelia meeting held in Chania, Greece on 9 June.

Slesarenko and Golubchikova win in Lille.

Yelena Slesarenko and Yuliya Golubchikova won their events at the Meeting Lille Metropole held in Lille, France, yesterday. Slesarenko cleared 1.98m in the womens high jump and Golubchikova achieved 4.50 in the womens pole vault.

US athletes already in Zhukovski

The meetings competitors from the USA, sprinters John Woods and Johnie Drake arrived in Zhukovski. The both athletes with Emedolu Uchenna from Nigeria and Slovenias Matic Osovnikar are the main rivals to Russias Andrey Yepishin.

Kotova instead of Kolchanova

One of the strongest athletes, European Champion in the long jump Lyudmila Kolchanova was injured during her training three days before the Znamensky Memorial and couldnt participate at the meeting in Zhukovski. But the three times World Champion Tatyana Kotova, one of fans favorite athletes, will compete in the womens long jump to win.

Javelin to fly far in Zhukovski

Russian record holder Sergey Makarov and the meeting record holder Aleksandr Ivanov, both the meetings three times winners, will compete in the mens javelin throw at the Znamensky Memorial in Zhukovski on 9 June. Recently in Dessau, Sergey Makarov showed with his throws series (81.96-83.01-82.17-86.32-83.68-87.05) he is in good form.
