Russian Championships start tomorrow

The 2007 Russian Athletic Championships will start in the city of Tula tomorrow. Today, there was a technical meeting where was said that 951 athletes including 527 men and 424 women from 66 Russia’s regions will compete at the championships.

Tatyana Lebedeva’s second win at weekend

After her win in Mardid, Tatyana Lebedeva won the long jump at the Tallinn 2007 meeting, held in Estonian capital yesterday. She jumped 6.87 m. Yekaterina Kostetskaya won the 800m with 2:01.16.

Tatyana Lebedeva wins in Greece

Tatyana Lebedeva won the women’s triple jump with 6.86m at yesterday’s Vardinoyiannia meeting in Rethymno, Greece. Oksana Gromova placed second in the women’s javelin throw with 60.38m.

Russian team won 10 medals at the 5th IAAF World Youth Championships ended in Czech’s Ostrava yesterday. On Day 5, our athletes won 2 medals. Darya Klishina became the champion in the girls’ long jump, and Mariya Shumilova placed third.

Russian wins European U23 Championships

Russian team won the 6th European Athletics U23 Championships, which came to end in Debrecen yesterday. Russian athletes won 35 medals: 15 gold, 9 silver and 11 bronze ones. The men’s team won 12 medals and the women’s team won 23 medals.

Tatyana Lebedeva and Natalya Ivanova win in Switzerland

Tatyana Lebedeva and Natalya Ivanova won their events at the yesterday’s Athletissima meeting held in Lausanne, Switzerland. Performing in two events Lebedeva won the women’s triple jump achieving 14.47m and placed third in the long jump with 6.60m.

Polnova vaults 472 cm

Tatyana Polnova achieved her season best in women’s Pole Vault cleared 472 cm at an international meeting in Rivas, Spain on 29 June. Her result is the World’s season third.
