The weather was OK for me today. We are used to train also when it is around 30 degrees in Mordovia, Russia. There were strong opponents today and the pace was quite fast. We were changing the positions every kilometer. My tactics was to keep with the group until the half of the race and then to speed up to 4-5 min on km. The last kilometer was very difficult as it was hard to keep proper technique and to avoid mistakes.

Denis Strelkov
Of course, I wanted to win, but I was also fighting for the whole Russian team. Our tactics was to stay till the 16 kilometer together and afterwards go faster. Only the Polish walker Tomala could catch on our pace and came to the finish with us. We wanted to get all three medals, but we couldn´t. We are not satisfied.
