IAAF Council to meet in Osaka

Monte-Carlo - The next IAAF Council Meeting takes place in Osaka, Japan, on 28/29 March 2006 in the Hotel New Otani. The city will be the host to the next edition of the IAAF World Championships in Athletics in 2007.
Council members will hear summaries of activities from the IAAF President, Honorary Treasurer and the various IAAF departments, and will study reports from the IAAF Technical Committee, the Masters’ Committee, the Press Commission, the Development Commission, the Juridical Commission, the Medical & Anti-Doping Commission, the Anti-Doping Task Force, and the School/Youth Commission.

Council will also discuss the current status of the IAAF Athletics’ World Plan, and hear progress reports from the organisers of the next four IAAF World Athletics Series events.

In Osaka, following on-site presentations, Council will also select the hosts of the 2008 edition of the IAAF World Junior Championships (Candidates are Bydgoszcz POL and Moncton CAN) and the 2010 edition of the IAAF World Cup in Athletics (sole candidate is Split CRO.).
