Chicherova clears 2.06m

05.02.2012

World champion Anna Chicherova set a Russian record at the High jump with music meeting held Arnstadt, Germany.

Anna was the only one who cleared 2.00 (at her second attempt), then cleared 2.03 at her first one and 2.06 at her third one. Chicherova improved her and Yelena Slesarenko’s own record by 2cm. Anna holds Russia’s outdoor record (2.07m) as well.

Anna’s 2.06 is the all-time third result after Sweden’s Kajsa Bergqvist’s 2.08 (2006 in Arnstadt) and Germany’s Heike Henkel’s 2.07m (1992). 2.06 was cleared by Stefka Kostadinova in 1988 and Blanka Vlasic in 2010.

Irina Gordeyeva placed second with 1.97m. Svetlana Shkolina was sixth with 1.94m.

World season leader Aleksey Dmitrik and Ivan Ukhov cleared 2.30m and placed first and second, respectively.
