Brilliant Abakumova, Savchenko and Menkov

The first meeting of the Samsung Diamond League was held in Doha (Qatar) yesterday. Mariya Abakumova set a World leading of 66.86m in the women’s javelin throw.
Aleksandr Menkov won the men's long jump with 8.22m in his fourth and only one successful effort.
Anastasiya Savchenko won the women's pole vault, clearing a personal best of 4.57m. Yuliya Golubchikova placed 7th with 4.30m, and Aleksandra Kiryashova was 9th – 4.20m.
