Lemaitre to double in Moscow

12.10.2012

In the end of the season debrief French sprinter Christophe Lemaitre revealed that he will compete in both the 100m and 200m at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow.

The two-time European 100m champion will take part in some indoor events before he embarks on his summer campaign.

At the 2012 Olympic Games In London this summer, the Frenchman only took part in the 200m where he finished a disappointing sixth in 20.19.

A year ago at the World Championships in Daegu he had clocked a French record of 19.80 in lifting 200m bronze. Previously, in the 100m he had finished an excellent fourth and at the end of the programme he anchored the French 4x100m quartet to a silver medal behind the brilliant Jamaican team.

The timetable in London had prevented Lemaitre from doubling up because there was only one day between the final of the 100m and the heats of the 200m. Some experts disagreed on the wisdom of that choice.

In Moscow, however, there are four days between the final of the 100m and the heats of the 200m
