Rest is over for Barras, Semenya and Quinonez

Quinonez prepares for the season with an extended support team, Barras returns to training after the injury, Semenya plans a revenge upon Savinova in Moscow

 

Ecuador national record holder and Olympic finalist in the 200 m Alex Quinonez will receive full government support to prepare for the next Olympics. Alex recently had a full medical check-up and started training. His team now includes a psychologist, a physio and a nutritionist. Quinonez plans to train in Pretoria in November and in Bogota in December. The runner is going to compete indoors in Europe. His main goals for the next summer are the World Championships in Moscow and the Bolivar Games in Peru.

2010 European champion in decathlon Romain Barras is returning to full training. He recovered after the injury and started planning out his competition schedule. Romain wants to compete at the Moscow 2013 IAAF World Championships and at the European Championships 2013 in Zurich. He plans to end his career before the Rio Olympics, but intends to stay in athletics as a competition organizer.

2009 World champions and Olympic silver medallist Caster Semenya wants a revenge upon Mariya Savinova that didn’t let the South African to claim the 800 m gold in London. In her interview to the local media Semenya noted that she plans the revenge to take place in Moscow, at the World Championships. Caster is going to start her winter training soon. So far she enjoys the love of her compatriots. She is nominated for “the sportswoman of the year” and the “star of the year” in the national contest.
