Olympic medalists Yarisley Silva and Moutaz Essa Barshim will take part in the international “Russian Winter” meeting. World indoor 800 m champion Mohammed Aman will attempt to beat the world record in the 600 m.

The organizing committee of the IAAF Indoor Permit meeting “Russian Winter” that will take place on February 3rd in Moscow announced the latest addition to the pole vault field: London Olympics’ vice champion from Cuba Yarisley Silva will take part in the competition. Previously the organizers announced other stars of this event: world champion Fabiana Murer, 2009 world champion Anna Rogowska, world junior champion, European U23 champion and world indoor bronze medallist Holly Bleasdale and  national indoor record holder from Ukraine Hanna Shelekh. Russian fans will also cheer for the Olympian Anastasiya Savchenko and young Anzhelika Sidorova who recently improved her PB to 4.55.

Olympic bronze medallist Moutaz Essa Barshim from Qatar will be the main star of the men’s high jump. This young and talented athlete has impressive PBs: 2.39 outdoors and 2.36 indoors. Barshim is a current world leader. On Sunday he jumped 2.33 at a meeting in Sweden.

The organizers also announced the latest addition to a strong field in the men’s 600m – world indoor champion in the 800 m Mohammed Aman (Ethiopia). Aman along with the Olympics and world junior championships medallist Timothy Kitum (Kenya) and 2004 Olympic champion and 2012 European champion Yuriy Borzakovskiy will go for the world indoor record.
