Stellar hurdlers at “Russian Winter”

The 22nd edition of the “Russian Winter” meeting, that will take place in Moscow on February 3rd, will host spectacular 60 m hurdles heats

 

The best hurdlers in the world will line up in women’s heats. London Olympics bronze medallist from the USA Kellie Wells (60 m hurdles PB – 7.79), world indoor medallist Alina Talay from Belarus, two-times NCAA champion in 2012 Christina Manning (USA) will me the main contenders. But they will face strong competition from Ginnie Crawford, Tatyana Dektyareva, Svetlana Topilina and Olympic finalist Beate Schrott from Austria.

In the men’s hurdles the main target of the runners will be the meeting record of 7.46 that stands from 2002 and belongs to Yevgeniy Pechonkin. The favourites are the national record holder and European champion on the 110 m hurdles Sergey Shubenkov, the last year’s world leader Kevin Craddock (USA), Andrew Pozzi (GBR) and Daniel Kiss (HUN). The current world leader Maksim Lynsha from Belarus is also coming to Moscow. On January 17th in Minsk he ran a national record of 7.50.
