Past and present stars promote Moscow 2013 at Sportaccord - IAAF World Championships

400m Hurdles legend Edwin Moses and the reigning Olympic 20km Race Walk champion Elena Lashmanova joined IAAF President Lamine Diack at the 2013 SportAccord Convention in Saint Petersburg on Wednesday (29) to help promote the IAAF World Championships.
SportAccord is the umbrella organisation for both Olympic and non-Olympic international sports federations as well as organisers of international sporting events and the SportAccord convention, held this year on 26-31 May, gathers all the major players in international sports under one roof.
At an IAAF press conference held at SportAccord on Wednesday, Diack was joined by Moses and Lashmanova as well as IAAF General Secretary Essar Gabriel, Head of Moscow City Government Department of Physical Culture and Sport Aleksey Vorobiev, Executive Director of Moscow 2013 Aleksandr Polinskiy, and President of All-Russia Athletics Federation Valentin Balakhnichev.
Diack stated he is confident that this year’s IAAF World Championships in Moscow – held on 10-18 August this year – will generate the same excitement as the athletics programme from last year’s Olympic Games in London.
