ARAF Anti-Doping Commission published the annual report on the work during the competition season.
The competition season 2012/2013 is over. It was full of a number of high level events amongst which the most important ones are: IAAF World Championships in Moscow, FISU Games in Kazan, European Teams’ Championships in Gateshead and IAAF World Youth Championships in Donetsk.
According to the ARAF Anti-Doping Program there was enlarged number of activities on drug free sports educational program for athletes competing in events, on organising well-coordinated and highly effective cooperation between all the services to find out, prevent and stop all the prohibited substances and methods usage.
The main activities of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, RUSADA, IAAF and ARAF were aimed at the development and strengthening of the policy with the main principles such as “drug free sport” and “there is no place for drugs at the stadiums”, at the formation of the ideas and principles of the healthy life-style, at finding out and preventing of new prohibited substances and methods usage.
During the season September 2012 – September 2013 the total amount of the tests taken is 4176 at the out-of-competition and in-competition testing. Up to now 36 national athletes have been disqualified by ARAF Anti-Doping Commission. According to the IAAF testing program the number of out-of-competition tests taken is 521, and the number of in-competition tests taken is 100. During the IAAF World Championships in Moscow 158 tests of the Russian athletes were taken, during the FISU Games in Kazan 31 tests of the Russian athletes were taken.
The number of tests of the Russian athletes in IAAF, WADA and RUSADA testing programs is much higher than the numbers of tests taken in other world leading athletics teams. ARAF is the word athletics leader in fight against doping.
The list of international testing pool includes the names of 62 Russian athletes.

A lot of activities are aimed at the scale and quality of testing, including the retrospective analysis of the previous samples and the introduction of the Athlete Biological Passport.
