Men’s hurdles at Russian Winter
The organizing committee of the Russian Winter meeting has formed a superb line-up in the men’s 60mH, where best Russian hurdlers Sergey Shubenkov and Konstantin Shabanov will face Beijing Olympic champion and former 110mH record holder Dayron Robles of Cuba.
In 2013, Shubenkov beat Robles at a Diamond League meeting in Zurich, and Robles beat Shubenkov later in Zagreb. Shabanov, in his turn, didn’t let Shubenkov won at the last year’s Russian Winter, beat him at the Universiade in Kazan, but Shubenkov beat Shabanov Russian and European championships. Shubenkov started his season in December 2013, when he clocked 7.65 in Omsk.
Other competitor in the men’s 60mH is in good shape as well. Thomas Martinot-Lagarde who was a finalist in the men’s 110mH in Moscow set a personal best of 7.69 in Nantes on 18 January. Hungary’s Balazs Baji and Greece’s Konstadinos Douvalidis will compete as well.
