Zhukovsky ready to host World Athletics Stars

The Znamensky Memorial will be held in Zhukovsky at the Meteor stadium on 9 June for the second consecutive year. Athletes from more than 20 countries of the World will compete at the 49th edition of the meeting. There will be an attractive show for the crowd: the meeting’s program consists of 17 events combining with one script and hopes of new records and “queen’s” emotions.
Their participations have already confirmed Olympic, World and European champion Tatyana Lebedeva (Russia), World champion Debbie Ferguson (Bahamas), Olusoji Fasuba (Nigeria). World record holder Tatyana Lysenko who, by the way, is trained in Zhukovsky by Nikolay Beloborodov will compete in the women’s hammer throw against Cuba’s Yipsi Moreno and french Manuela Montebrun.

Sergey Makarov and Aleksandr Ivanov will compete in the men’s javelin throw against best athletes from Finland, Norway and Estonia.
