Aleksandr Pogorelov third at Hypo meeting in Goetzic.

Aleksandr Pogorelov achieved a personal best of 8429 points in the decathlon having taken the third place at the Hypo meeting in Goetzic, Austria, yesterday.
After Day 1, Aleksandr led with 4398 points ahead Czech’s Roman Sebrle by 5 points. Aleksandr did his best performance in the long jump – 7.64m (970 points). He ran the 100m in 10.91sec, achieved 16.03m in the shot put, 2.09m in the high jump and 50.16sec in the 400meters.
During the second day, Aleksadr added to his result 4031 points, but he couldn’t take the lead and yielded Sebrle and Attila Zsivoczky by 105 and 51 points accordingly. Aleksandr’s second day results were 14.14sec in the 110Hm, 48.44m in the hammer throw, 5.10m in the pole vault, 58.23m in the javelin throw and 4:50.90min in the 1500m.
