Yevgeniy Lukyanenko starts the season with confidence

2007 World Championships finalist Yevgeniy Lukyanenko began this indoor season with confidence winning Governor Cup in Krasnodar with an indoor personal best and Russian season best of 5.70m yesterday.
The athlete, 22, cleared 5.70 on his second attempt, but this season’s first three attempts at 5.80 were yet unsuccessful. Yevgeniy’s next meeting is Russian Winter where he will face World and European Indoor Champion Igor Pavlov, Jeff Hartwig (USA), World medalist Danny Ecker (Germany).
Andrey Yepishin won the men’s 60m clocking 6.70sec. Mariya Koroteyeva won the women’s 60mH with 8.12sec beating Olga Korsunova on second place with 8.14 and Aleksandra Antonova placing third with 8.16.
European Indoor medalist Olesya Bufalova won the women’s triple jump with 14.54m.
Ruslan Gataullin performed well at his season first meeting. He managed in the men’s long jump 7.94m. Vitaliy Shkurlatov was second with 7.85 and 20-old Dmitriy Plotnikov placed third with 7.75.
World Indoor champion Tatyana Kotova achieved in the women’s long jump 6.77 placing second. The winner was Olga Kucherenko with 6.87m.
