Soboleva continues to set records

Yelena Soboleva has set a Russian record in the women’s 800m at the Russian Indoor Championships in Moscow today. She clocked 1:56.49.
Her time is 4th in the all-time indoor list. The better results have Jolanda Ceplak (1:55.82 – 03.03.2002), Stephanie Graf (1:55.85 – 03.03.2002) è Christine Wachtel (1:56.40 – 13.02.1988).
This result is Soboleva’s second record in recent time. She had set a national record in the women’s 1 mile at the Russian Winter meeting on 27 January clocking 4:20.21.
Mariya Shapayeva finished fourth with 1:59.71 setting a Russian U23 record.
