World champions to meet in Zhukovsky

The organizing committee of the 50th Znamensky Memorial has received first confirmations of participation in the meeting. This year’s World Indoor champions Blanka Vlasic from Croatia and Osoluji Fasuba from Nigeria come to Zhukovsky on 15 June.
Now, 2007 World Champion Blanka Vlasic is number 1 in World athletics. She was unbeatable at more than 20 meetings running. Russian high jumpers can compete with the Croatian but they sure have to beat the meeting’s record of 2.02 set by Vlasic in 2006.
Osoluji Fasuba managed to leave behind all sprinters from USA in the men’s 60m at the IAAF World Indoors Championships in Valencia. He finished fourth over the men’s 100m at the IAAF World Championships in Osaka in last year’s summer.
