Svetlana Feofanova gets started

Svetlana Feofanova won the women’s pole vault at her season first meeting of the IAAF Grand Prix series held in Madrid. She cleared 4.75m ahead of Tatyana Polnova (4.65) and Yuliya Golubchikova (4.60).
Anna Nazarova (6.75) and Yelena Sokolova (6.74) placed third and fourth in the women’s long jump.
Olympic Champion Yelena Slesarenko cleared in the women’s high jump 2.01m placing third. The winner was Croatian Blanka Vlasic with 2.06m.
Pavel Sofin took the second place in the men’s shot put achieving 20.15m.
