Petrova’s silver finish

Russia’s Lyudmila Petrova finished second at the New York Marathon setting a World record of 2:25:423 for the Women over 40 category. She lost the lead in the last meters of the distance to let Paula Radcliff win. In 2000, Petrova was the first Russian runner to win the marathon. Lyudmila Morgunova was 9th with 2:30:38.
