Yuriy Abramov third in Houston

Russia’s Yuriy Abramov, 32, finished third at the Houston Marathon clocking 2:12:25 with Deriba Merga (ETH) winning in 2:07:52 and Benson Cheruiyot (KEN) taking second in 2:11:33.
Abramov, middle and long distances runner, tried out for a marathon in October 2007 and clocked a good time of 2:12:22 in Frankfurt. In Houston, he achieved almost the same result. And Merga set a course record.
Yuliya Gromova finished fourth in the women’s division in 2:31:27.
About 25.000 runners competed at the marathon.
