Season bests in Moscow again

Vyacheslav Sokolov gained his second win at the Moscow Indoor Championships clocking 1:48.30 in the men’s 800m on Day 2. Oksana Zbrozhek set a World season best of 2:01.53 in the women’s 800m.
On Day 1, Sokolov won the men’s 1500m, and Zbrozhek finished second over the women’s 1500m.

Roman Smirnov showed his good shape winning men’s 200m in 21.11. He’s preparing to run the men’s 300m (PB – 34.09) at the Russian Winter meeting on 1 February. His 34.09sec in the event is the World season best.

In the women’s 200m, the winner was Olympic Relay Champion Aleksandra Fedoriva clocking in the final 23.71 (23.66 in the heats). Aleksandra will run the women’s 60mH at the Russian Winter.

Yuliya Golubchikova won the women’s pole vault with 4.60m, but she had to stop competing because of a leg injury. Pavel Gerasimov injured pole vaulting as well. Their injuries are said not to be serious so the season leaders will be back soon.

Mariya Konovalova was the only one to run sub-9 minutes in the women’s 3000m clocking 8:57.80.

Ivan Ilyichev set a PB of 2.28 in the men’s high jump, and Igor Spasovkhodskiy achieved a World season best of 16.64 on the men’s triple jump.
