New champions in Torino

A new generation of champions will be crowned in Torino.
From title defenders (winners in Birmingham 2007) only four men and three women will compete out of 24 individual events. In the men section David Gillick of Ireland at 400 m, Dutch Gregory Sedoc at 60 m Hurdles, German Danny Ecker in Pole Vault and Czech Roman Sebrle in heptathlon. Russian Oksana Zbrozhek at 800 m, Poland´s Lidia Chojecka (1500 m and or 3000 m) and Italian Assunta Legnante will fight for the title again.
