Spasovkhodskiy takes bronze

07.03.2009

Igor Spasovkhodskiy took the bronze medal in the men’s triple jump at the European Indoor Championships in Torino. He achieved 17.15m.
“The surface was very bouncy and it made me a problem at the beginning. I had really big trouble with the first attempt - my right leg started to hurt me and I thought I was not able to continue the competition. Fortunatelly, after I skipped one attempt and put ice on it, it was better. I am very satisfied with medal because even yesterday it was very difficult qualification. I saw many people not jumping well during these two days, so I am happy I achieved the bronze. 17 meters was my goal and I got over it”, said Igor.
