Lolo stop in May

29.04.2009 World

U.S. Olympian and World Indoor Hurdles Champion, Lolo Jones suffered a slight hamstring injury while competing in the 100 meter hurdles at the Drake Relays this past Saturday.

After getting out to a good start, Jones had to pull up at the eighth hurdle. A further exam and MRI in Baton Rouge, LA confirmed the injury as a minor hamstring strain. Doctors have advised that she take the month of May away from competition to convalesce and rehabilitate. That means she will miss planned races in Kingston and Doha.

„Of course I would have loved to finish the race but I am so thankful for the outpouring of support and the opportunity to reconnect with the community that helped me get to this level,“ said Lolo Jones as www.trackandfieldnews.com informs. The world indoor champion is also relaunching her website www.runlolorun.com. Her first meet might after the break might be Artur Takac Memorial in Beograd, in Serbia on May 29.
