Russia’s 5 medals on Day 2 at Universiade 2005.

Russian athletes won 5 medals (2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze) on Day 2 of the Athletic program at the Universiade 2005 in Izmir (Turkey). Our team is placing second after China with 3 gold and 3 silver medals.
Andrei Yepishin won the men’s one medal, finishing second in the 100m final with 10.43 seconds. He yielded to China’s Kai Hu 0.13 seconds. Olga Khalandyriova won the same event between women, clocking 11.64 seconds.

Russian long jumpers won two medals in the women’s long jump final. Liudmila Kolchanova jumped 6.79 meters (Tatiana Kotova’s silver result in Helsinki) and won the event. Natalia Lebusova was third with 6.51m.

Tatiana Pavli brought the fifth medal to Russia. She achieved 13.01 seconds in the women’s 100mH, finishing second.
