Five gold medallists from Beijing in Brazil

Second meet of four events circuit in Brazil on Sunday at Celio de Barros stadium will see some real highlights with five individual Olympic gold medallists from Beijing.

Despite the fact that it will be again a morning meet (starting at 9 am) great marks are expected. Specially in men long jump where Olympic winner Irving Saladino of Panama will open his season. He will face another Olympic medallist Ibrahin Camejo of Cuba. But the clash of the day will be men´s triple jump. Portugal Olympic winner Nelson Evora will also open the season but will have it tough against in-shape Cubans (Giralt, Copello, Tosca, Betanzos).

Home star Maurren Higa Maggi competes in Long Jump against US world leader Brittney Reese and Grace Upshaw and Cuban triple world champion Yargelis Savigne. New Zealand´s shot put Beijing winner Valerie Vili will be in the field against best Cuban (Vargas, Gonzalez). The day before men´s hammer will be staged and the Olympic winner Primoz Kozmus of Slovenia will be in the field.

Another interesting event will be women discus with Cuban world and Olympic medallist Yarelis Barrios and another Beijing medallist Olena Antonova of Ukraine. Home star Fabiana Murer will be there in Pole Vault. Top names in the hurdles are US Ryan Wilson (110) and Jamaican Isa Phillips (400). US Mike Rodgers is the top name in both sprints at 100 m and 200 m. In the longer dash world indoor champion at 400 m Canadian Tyler Christopher is another top name.
