The Danek Memorial meet (national permit) on Tuesday May 26 will see first this years clash of discus titans Gerd Kanter vs. Virgilijus Alekna.
Also in the field olympic 2004 medalist Zoltan Kovago of Hungary. In women javelin olympic gold medalist and world record holder Babora Spotakova will have her season debut. She on Monday succesfully ended her university studies at Agricultural University in Prague, specialisation ecology.
It was also announced that in her second meet on June 3 in Strasbourg, France she will meet for first time her German rival and current world leader Christine Obergfoll. They will meet then again in Ostrava at Golden Spike IAAF Grand Prix Meet on June 17. Another star in Turnov will be decathlon world record holder Roman Sebrle in his last discus test before competing during the weekend in Gotzis.
