Perfect Kirdyapkin

Sergey Kirdyapkin became the men’s 50km champion at the Russian Race Walking in Cheboksary today.

Kirdyapkin walked in tandem with Sergey Bakulin for a long time, but then he left him behind and finished in 3:49.04. Bakulin clocked 3:54.37 finishing second, and Sergey Leontyev finished third with 4:04.46.

International judges highly appreciated Kirdyapkin’s technique according to a judge Yelena Orlova, and one of them said that it is so perfect that can be used in Race Walking study books.

The chief coach of the Russian Race Walking team Sergey Melnikov said that Sergey Kirdyapkin will be recommended to be included in the national team for Berlin in addition to Denis Nizhegorodov and Yuriy Andronov.
