Murer becomes South American Champion

Fabiana Murer of Brasil dominated her event with 460 at South American Championships.

In expected 100 m finals Panama´s talent Alonso Edward won with 10.29 (+0.6) ahead of Daniel Grueso of Colombia (10.39). Uruguay got 400 m gold after Andres Silva was the best in 46.06. In tough 1500 m finals Byron Piedra achieved 3:41.81 beat Brazilian favorite Hudson de Souza (3:42.72).

Arley Ibarguen achieved excellent national record 81.07 in javelin and gold for Colombia. In other women events Lucimar Moura with 11.59 (-0.8) at 100 m, Sabine Heitling with 9:52.54 in steeple, Elisangela Adriano 61.00 in discus and Lucimar da Silva with 5996 points in heptathlon scored solid gold medals for Brasil, the leading country in the sport on the continent.
