Sprint promises fast

High results can be achieved in the sprint events at the Znamensky Memorial on 5 July in Zhukovskiy.

World and European medalist Andrey Yepishin, who has practically recovered from an injury, is expected to compete in the men’s 100m. He continues training at the Meteor stadium. World Champion Kim Collins of Saint Kitts and Nevis known for last year’s winning at the Memroial and the Moscow Open meeting is the main contender to win. His season best of 10.15 was set last week.

The main rivals in the women’s 200m are Olympic Champion Yuliya Gushchina, European Indoor finalist Yuliya Gushchina, World medalist Jeanette Kwakye and Emily Freeman.

In the women’s 400m, Anastasiya Kapachinskaya faces with Lyudmila Litvinova, Tatyana Firova, Antonina Krivoshapka, Darya Safonova, Natalya Antyukh, Yelena Voynova. There are Olympic team members Denis Alekseyev, Anton Kokorin, Vladislav Frolov and Maksim Dyldin in the men’s 400m start list.
