Popkova wins women’s 10.000m

Natalya Popkova won the women’s 10.000m at the European U23 Championships in Kaunas, and Natalya Puchkova was fourth.

Popkova (2007 European Junior 5000 Champion and 3000 silver medalist) leaded the race from the first meters and clocked 33:37.31 at the finish. Puchkova clocked 33:52.01.

Early this year, Popkova won the women’s 10.000m at the Russian U23 Championships setting a PB of 32:46.94. She will compete in the women’s 5.000m in Kaunas as well.
