Isinbayeva places second in London
Yelena Isinbayeva unexpectedly placed second in the women’s pole vault at the Aviva Grand Prix London clearing at 4.68m on her third as Poland’s Anna Rogowska managed the same height on her second.
“It’s unusual for me to lose and I don’t know how to come second,” said Isinbayeva. “I’ve had some injuries which hasn’t helped with my training. Now I have to get back to training and look forward to the World Championships where I will be in my best shape.”
On Day 2, Tatyana Lebedeva took the second place in the women’s long jump achieving 6,90m. Portugal’s Naide Gomes won the event with 6.99m.
