Sokolova wins in Stockholm

Russian Champion and European Indoor silver medalist Yelena Sokolova won the women’s long jump at the DN Galan meeting held in Stockholm today.
Sokolova beat Estonian Ksenija Balta with 6.82m on her last attempt achieving 6.84m (+3.0). Olga Kucherenko jumped 6.65 (+3.2) and placed 5th. Tatyana Lebedeva did one attempt and placed 7th with 6.54. European Junior Champion Darya Klishina was 8th (6.50) and Olga Balayeva was 9th (6.34).
2-time European Indoor Champion and Russian 400m Champion Antonina Krivoshapka finished second in the women’s 400m clicking 50.80. Yuliya Gishchina finished 7th – 51.55. Kseniya Zadorina was second in the B heat clocking 52.29.
Yaroslav Rybakov placed second in the men’s high jump clearing 2.30 as the winner Jesse Williams of USA. 2009 Russian Champion Ivan Ukhov placed 4th with 2.24.
Yuriy Borzakovskiy finished second in the men’s 800m clocking 1:47.34. Boaz Kiplagat Lalang of Kenya beat Borzakovsky in 1:47.11. Natalya Popkova was second in the women’s 500m setting a PB of 15:05.95.
