New record of Koln Marathon

At 13th Koln Marathon for first time the 2:10 barrier was broken.
Kenyans Evans Ruto and Samson Bungei clocked as first and second new course record 2:08:36. Third Adam Khamis of Bahrain achieved new national record 2:09:09 (he is former Kenyan Hosea Kipkemboi). Home hero Sabrina Mockenhaupt was able to run a marathon only six weeks after Berlin World Championships and although tired she won clearly in 2:30:12. Second and third Kenyans Rose Nyangacha 2:38:07 and Prisca Kiprono 2:46:21. In the men race from positions four to 12 all Kenyans and all with sub 2:20 times.
