Pittman wants to run soon

07.10.2009 World

Double 400 m hurdles world champion Jana Pittman of Australia said that she will run in next year‘s Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

She aims for a third consecutive title in the 400 metres hurdles but that winning a gold medal at the London 2012 Olympics remains her top priority. Writes insidethegames.com. Since claiming her second world title in Osaka two years ago (and in Paris 2003), Pittman has endured a torrid spell through injury and personal problems, includinge getting divorced from her British husband, Chris Rawlinson. Complications from a foot injury ruled her out of the Beijing Olympics and a back-related complaint prevented the 26-year-old from defending her world title in Berlin in August. She is now back in full training under new coach Craig Hilliard and looking forward to a heavy racing programme in the Australian summer for the first time in several years.
