Asafa Powell sailing

15.12.2009 World

Relay world record holder Asafa Powell went sailing on Saturday in Singapore.

Powell was taken to this new venture when he stepped on board double-Olympic Gold Medallist Shirley Robertson’s catamaran racing in the Extreme Sailing Series Asia. Writes TrackAlerts.com. Powell, who is in Singapore as part of the Jamaican Government payback for the repairs which investors in the Asian country will carry out on Jamaica’s National Stadium complex, was a guest on Rumbo Almeria, one of six teams taking part in the second leg of the Series in Marina Reservoir. “When I saw the size of his arms, I knew we had to get him to work!” laughed Robertson. Powell was put to work winching the 60-foot high mainsail on the Extreme 40.
