Head coach of UK Athletics Dutchman Charles Van Commenee announced that the selection criteria for next July‘s European Championships in Barcelona will be at same level as they were this year for World Championships in Berlin.
Technically, EA has lower standards than IAAF and the same for each national federation. Van Commenee said he is considering Barcelona 2010 as an important step in the path to London 2012 with next year‘s Commonwealth Games in Delhi a more appropriate opportunity for developing athletes.
