Big contingent of athletes to line-up at European YOT

Forty-six Member Federations of European Athletics have confirmed their participation at the inaugural European Youth Olympic Trials in Moscow from 21 to 23 May.
According to the preliminary entries, which closed on Monday, a total of 801 athletes in the boys and girls category will compete in the Russian capital in order to confirm their place at the first edition of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) to be held in Singapore through 14-26 August 2010.
The trials will serve as the only selection opportunity for Singapore 2010.
The athletics competitions at the YOG 2010 shall be open to youth age group athletes in accordance with Rule 141 of the IAAF. Boys and girls in the age range of 16-17 years on 31 December in the year of the competition can participate.
