World Athlete of the Year and 400 m world champion Sanya Richards-Ross will for first time in her career compete in the street race.

She will run at the Manchester CityGames on 16 May. Per reports her event will be the 200 m on a specially constructed track at the second staging of the CityGames. That same day, the event will host the BUPA Great Manchester Run, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race. The 25-year-old American, who married New York Giants football star Aaron Ross in February, will face Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie, the Bahamian winner over 150m at last year’s meeting. Organizers have already announced that Tyson Gay and olympic gold medalist Christine Ohuruogu will compete over distances yet to be announced. Reigning World Heptathlon and Pentathlon gold medallist Jessica Ennis is also a confirmed entry to race over 150 m.
