Marina Kuptsova starts in Moscow

27.12.2005

Russia’s former record holder Marina Kuptsova who recovered after her Achilles tendon rupture will start the 2006 indoor season in Moscow. She will compete at the High jumps with music meeting on 21 January and at the Russian Winter, an IAAF Indoor Permit meeting, on 25 January.
“For the first time, I feel great and fully healthy”, Marina said to the Ves Sport agency. “Now, I feel better than before the injury, as I felt a pain in my legs about one year. This time, I’m ready on 70-80%, so it’s not so bad. The season’s main meeting, World Indoors in Moscow, will be only in 2 and half month, so I’m not going to achieve my best now”.

As Marina Kuptsova says, she’s going to win each meeting in the next season, in which she will compete. “That is my principle. If I’m not ready on 100%, I don’t enter the sector. It was at the last year’s Russian championships, where I was second. At that time, I knew I wasn’t ready to international meetings. So I didn’t take someone’s place and let down the team. But now, there is a different situation. I have to go, win and remind about me aloud”, she claimed.
