Wins for Russians and World record for Wlodarczyk

Tatyana Kotova returned after giving birth to her son and won the women’s long jump at the X European Athletics Festival held in Bydgoszcz, Poland. She achieved 6.66m.

World season leader Olga Kucherenko placed 4th with 6.57, and Yelena Sokolova was 9th – 6.32m.

World champion and record holder Anita Wlodarczyk of Poland improved her World record achieving 78.30m. Her previous record of 77.96m was set at the World Championships in Berlin. Russia’s Tatyana Lysenko placed 4th with 71.62m.

Olympic relay champion Yuliya Chermoshanskaya finished third in the women’s 200 with 22.93.

Yuliya Golubchikova placed third in the women’s pole vault clearing 4.50m. Tatyana Polnova was 4th – 4.40.
