Christophe Lemaître: I can beat Dwain in Barcelona

“I think that I can beat Dwain (Chambers) in Barcelona. Adrenaline will make me fight for my first international medal in the absolute category”. These are the words of Christoph Lemaître, French sprinter who might turn into the first white athlete to clock sub-10 seconds – a mythic barrier.

Lemaître got closer to Chambers this weekend in Bergen, where the Frenchman chased his British rival as never seen before. Chambers won with 9.99 but Lemaître only stayed three hundredths behind, clocking a brilliant 10.02 despite the horrible weather conditions in Norway.
