Pretenders circle increases

A participant in the womens 1000 meters at the Russian Winter Tatyana Petlyuk from Ukraine won the 800 meters with 2:01.65 at the Christmas Starts held in the Ukrainian capital. The result is a World season best, so Tatyana could be a winner on 25 January in Moscow.
In addition to Petlyuk there are a few strong runners, Helsinki finalists Yelena Soboleva and Yuliya Chizhenko, Yelena Kanales who had set a Russian record in the womens 2000m on January, Lithuanian Irina Krakovyak and Anna Alminova, a finalist of the last years European championships.

Besides of them Irina Vashentseva, this indoor seasons leader, and Svetlana Cherkasova, on of the most strong runners in the 800 meters, pretend to the win.

It is interestingly to see in this event two nonspecialized athletes, Yekaterina Volkova, a World Championships medalist in the 3000mSt, and Liliya Shobukhova, a World Championships finalist in the 5000m.
