German Athletics Federation hopes to improve its structure

Changes within the German athletics federation DLV in the hope of improving its structure ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games.
The current head-coaches, Herbert Czingon for the field events and Idriss Gonschinska for the track events, will be joined by Claus Marek who will be the head-coach for combined events and by two more recruits who will be responsible for throwing and for running. The positions are supported and funded by the German Olympic Committee until the end of 2012. The German athletics federation also announced its 2012 top team which is a selection of elite athletes that will be closely followed and supported for the 2011 IAAF World Championships and the 2012 Olympic Games.
