Rudakova becomes champion

World Junior Champion Yekaterina Artyukh of Belarus has been banned for 2 years. So, Russia’s Vera Rudakova who was second in Moncton will get the gold medal.

Artyukh won the women’s 400mH in 56.16 in Moncton. Her doping test after the final was positive. On 8 October 2010, the Belarusian Athletic Federation decided to ban Yekaterina Artyukh from 12.08.10 to 11.08.12, and the IAAF confirmed its decision.

Vera Rudakova, who clocked 57.16 (PB), will get the champion title, USA’s Evonne Britton (57.32, PB) will become the silver medalist and Shiori Miki of Japan (57.35, NR) will become the bronze medalist.
