3 wins in Sofia

Russian athletes won 3 gold medals at the 11th European Cup Winter Throwing held in Sofia, Bulgaria. Russian men’s team topped the team standings scoring 4353 points.

Olesya Korotkova won the women’s discus throw achieving 60,20m, and Vera Karmishina was third - 57,45m. Former World record holder Tatyana Lysenko won the women’s hammer throw. She achieved 73,70m. Yekaterina Strokova won the U23 women’s discus throw - 55,56m.

Yevgeniya Kolodko placed second in the U23 women’s shot put with 17,85m. Soslan Tsirikhov was third in the men’s shot put - 19,45m. Valeriy Iordan placed third in the men’s javelin throw (79,49), and Dmitriy Tarabin was third in the U23 men’s javelin throw - 78,61m.

In team standings, Russian men’s team scored 4353 points and topped the list. Russian U23 men’s team placed second with 4028 points. Russian women’s team placed second with 4079 points and the U23 women’s team placed third – 3735 points.
